The most characteristic thing about the Barranc, is without doubt, the whole group of terraces and other constructions in dry stone walling.

Around the Barranc, the School of Dry Stone Wall Builders was born, and has been attended by a numerous group of young professionals who represent the hope that this profession will not die out.

Although some effort is being taken by the Insular Council to restore the damage that has occured to the path, the deterioration incurred to the rest of the whole area, declared to be of Cultural Interest in 1995, is much greater than the repairs carried out so far.
