The olive production in the past was transformed into oil in the oil presses that were there on the very Barranc. In the houses of Can Catí the olive press is still intact with all its implements. However, there is a serious threat to this singular element of heritage: the roof tiles of the houses have already started to fall in. At the houses of Can Silles the remains of an ancient olive press can still be found although there is no official documental record. If today we wish to make oil with the traditional system, the olives must be taken down to Soller to the press at Can Det or to the Cooperative that uses more modern techniques to produce the oil.
