The centenarian trees that used to give a good crop of olives for preserving or for making oil, are continuously being abandoned. The pines invade the terraces and increase the risk of forrest fires. If there were ever a fire in the Barranc, it would destroy even more, many of the terrace walls that are still well preserved The maintenance of the olive groves implies cleaning up the pine trees and the restoration of their productivity via proper pruning and burning the waste produced.
