Circinus or the compass, is a constellation that introduced Lacaille in order to equip with a precious navigation instrument the expedition of the Argonautas which they sailed to all candle to his fatal destiny. |

Characteristics
Circinus is a circumpolar austral constellation located in the parallel -60º and between the meridians 14h to 16h, remains always visible for paises that is South al of latitude -35º and hair net for paises whose latitude is superior to 30º of North latitude. The Milky Route crosses the constellation by its North sector, therefore, we observed great amount of stars some brilliants and some clusters.
It limits the north with the constellation of Lupus, the east with Centaurus and Musca; to the south with the constellation of Apus and to the west with Triangulum Australe and Norma.
To date, I have not been able to locate it to be in very austral latitudes from the island of Majorca where alive, although I do not discard to someday make a trip to the seas of the south, and to lose to me in an island of the desert Pacific to be able to contemplate and to locate the constellations that I have left to discover.

Main stars Alpha, a; binary system with an ample separation 16"of arc and fort contrasts, the main one has a 3.50 magnitude of white-yellowish whereas the secondary one of 8.50 is of blue color. Earth light is to 60 years. Beta, b; of magnitude 4.07, white is to 96 years light. Gamma, g; double system formed by two suns of magnitude 5.20 and 5,4; blue and a other yellow separated 2.3"of arc with an orbital period that is considered in 269 years. The joint magnitude is of 4,48. Earth light is to 510 years.
Other objects NGC 5823; stellar cluster located to the north of the bordering constellation with Lupus, magnitude, 10' of arc formed by 7.90 stars of 13º and 14º magnitude. Light of the Sun is to 4,100 years and has an age of 190 million years. |

Telescopical
observations
To date observations by telescope have not been made since it is located in the South hemisphere, next to the celestial and invisible South Pole from where I write these lines to you, Majorca, Spain, although I do not discard to someday make a trip to the seas of the south, and to lose to me in an island of the Pacific to be able to contemplate and to locate the constellations that still I have left to discover.
