Mythology and history

Eridiano or Hridatoz, God river, son of the Ocean and Tetis, whose location varies somewhat according to the traditions. In the legend of Heracles one assumes that it ends at the Ocean and it is located in the extreme West: in his borders it finds the hero to the nymphs that indicate the way to him towards the garden of the Hespérides. On the other hand, the version of the legend of the Argonautas gathered by Apolonio tries that the ship Argon sailed by the Erídano from the Adriatic to the Rhone reason for which the Erídano with the Po river was identified. In addition in history to the Argonautas the islands of the Ambar in the mouths of the Erídano are located; on the other hand, the Faetonte boy falls to the Erídano with the car of the Sun, and the tears that spill by him their sisters the Helíades are transformed into drops of amber. The Erídano appears in the sky in constellation form that ends at the star of magnitude 0.54 denominated Achernar. |

Characteristics
Eridianus, is an enormous constellation that includes an ample zone that goes from the equator to 60º of South latitude, analogous, from the geographic point of view with Chile. It is observed completely during the summer in the South hemisphere and the equatorial zone in the North hemisphere in you solely cold nights of winter next to Orion. It limits the north with Orion, Taurus and Cetus, to the east with the following constellations ordered of north to the south: Cetus until 20º of South latitude, Fornax until -40º and Phoenix until -60º. To the south limits with the circumpolar constellation of Hydrus with a southern latitude of 60º and to the west with the constellations Horologium until -40º of latitude, Caelum until -25º, Lepus until -10º of South latitude and again Orion.
Eridianus I located the 12 of November of 1984 from the locality of Inca, Majorca, Spain to it. The constellation that I located corresponds to its structure until 50º of visible South latitude from where I write to you, logically, the star most shining of the constellation or Achernar of magnitude 0.5 I have not been able it to observe to date.
