Mitología de Indius

        The constellation of Indus was designed at the end of century XVI by the Dutch navigators Pieter Dirkszoon Keyser and Frederik de Houtman,  Represents a Indian with its lance  of attack On guard.

           Indus, precious visible austral constellation during the months of June to December in the South but practically invisible hemisphere in the North hemisphere.

  Indus limits the north with Microscopium, to the east with Telescopium and Pavus to the south with the circumpolar constellation of Octants and to the west with Tucana and Grux.

             Indus hspear the date, I have not been able to locate it to be in very austral latitudes from the island of Majorca where alive, although I do not discard to someday make a trip to the seas of the south, and to lose to me in an island of the desert Pacific to be able to contemplate and to locate the constellations that I have left to discover

Main stars

       Alpha, a; of 3.11 magnitude and orange color. Earth light is to 101 years. It is a star 45 times more luminous than our Sun.

      Beta, b; of 3.65 magnitude and orange color. Earth light is to 603 years. It is a supergiant 1000 times more luminous than our Sun.

    Gamma, g;  of 6.09 magnitude and yellow color. Earth light is to 208 years.

        To date observations by telescope have not been made since it is located in the South hemisphere, next to the celestial and invisible South Pole from where I write these lines to you, Majorca, Spain, although I do not discard to someday make a trip to the seas of the south, and to lose to me in an island of the Pacific to be able to contemplate and to locate the constellations that still I have left to discover.
