Nysa or 44 is a small asteroid whose excentricity is 0.1503 only; tipical of asteroid kinds. Its orbit is situated between Mars & Jupiter whose medium distance is 2.43 A.U., it has an inclination relationship to ecliptic of 3.70º only. Its orbital period is 3.77 years. During its discovery for me and localitation Nysa was located at Virgo constellation whose magnitude was 9.6 only, close to its opposition.
During 2000 year, Nysa will be at Virgo constellation, its localitation was not easy because the field was very poor one of stars, & faint asteroid too.
The observation to find Nysa were made during the next nights; April, 5th & 6th of 2000 with my telescope, refractor of 1400mm. of phocal distance & 90mm. of diameter. In the end, at first obsrvation was made at 21h. 27m. (UT) of April 5th & I found Nysa asteroid into a poor field of stars at Virgo constellation. During the second night, April, 6th, , I saw Nysa asteroid at 20' to west of last position. By the way the discovery date of Nysa asteroid was at 21h. 27m.(UT) of April 5th of 2000.
By the other hand, with a Java program that I found on the net, & thanks to Osamu Ajiki of AstroArts&y Ron Baalke of JPL, you can see the asteroid orbit, distans in relationship to Sun 6 Earth at Solar System for any date.
