Characteristics
Reticulum or the reticulum is a smallest square austral constellation of 90º closely together of the celestial South Pole, crosses the parallel of 60º of South latitude; he is observable in the South hemisphere during great part of the year, however he is invisible in the North hemisphere where I write to you, on the other hand one is nailed far from the equator of the Milky Route to 50º to the south of the same one, therefore, we observed rich a poor zone in stars and in galaxies. In order to locate it its form turns out easy from rhombus and in addition it is located between the Great Cloud of Magallanes and the star shining of 0.5 magnitude Alchernar, or a Eridiani.
The constellation of Reticulum limits the north and the east with Horologium, the south with Hydrus and the west with the constellation of Dorado.
To date, I have not been able to locate it to be in very austral latitudes from the island of Majorca where alive, although I do not discard to someday make a trip to the seas of the south, and to lose to me in an island of the desert Pacific to be able to contemplate and to locate the constellations that I have left to discover.

| Main stars Alpha, a; with a magnitude of 3.34 it is of yellow color, light is to 163 years and it reveals to us that the star is a giant 100 times more luminous than the Sun is located in the center of the constellation. Beta, b; with a magnitude of 3.84, light is to 100 years, is a color star orange, phantom K. is located to the south of the constellation near Hydrus, comprises of the south of the rhombus. Gamma, g; it stars red, of phantom M, whose magnitude is of 4.51 which light of us is to 490 years, is a star 300 times more luminous than the Sun is located in the center of the constellation, near a reticulorum. Epsilon, e; orange stars, of phantom K, whose magnitude is of 4.44 which light of us is to 59 years, is located in the north of the constellation, forming part of the superior part of the rhombus.
Other objects NGC 1313, spiral galaxy striped SBc, of magnitude 8.7 located in the South end of the constellation already closely together with the limits with Hydrus; it has an angular diameter of 8'x6 ' of arc. |
