Mythology and history
|
This smaller constellation has been associated to different geographic places. This does not have to be surprising, because its form is similar to the one of the Greek letter delta, sometimes was denominated associated Delta and therefore to Egypt and the Nile, whose delta contributed fertile earth. Also it was associated to the island of Sicily, to which their three promontories give a triangular form him. |

Characteristics
Triangulum, or the precious triangle constellation of the located North hemisphere to the south of Andromeda and characteristic by its form of perfect isosceles triangle, calls the attention as much this constellation by its form that by its location. Formed by weak stars some is observable at first without problems. Is South al of the constellation of Andromeda and by as much, we observed in her few stars yes and galaxies. One is to 30º to the south of the celestial equator and therefore it is a poor zone in stars. The parallel of North 30º crosses the constellation in two, for that reason he is observable during the nights of October to April in both hemispheres.
Triangulum limits the north with the constellation of Andromeda, to the east with Piscis, the south with Aries and the west with Perseus.
The constellation of Triangulum I located the 22 to it of January of 1982 in the Majorcan locality of Inca, had then, 15 years.
